NCAA votes to eliminate National Letters of Intent (NLIs) and narrow the notification-of-transfer window from 45 days to 30 days

For sixty years, collegiate athletes and schools have entered into binding contracts with one another called National Letters of Intent (NLIs).  But on Wednesday, the NCAA announced that its Division I Council voted to approve the immediate elimination of the national letter of intent program.
